For 20 years, Starboard Group has operated franchised Wendy's restaurants in the United States. The company began with five locations in Pennsylvania and has since expanded to include 180 restaurants in nine states across the Eastern seaboard and the Midwest. In 2017, Starboard Group received the distinction of ranking 32nd in the Monitor 200 list of the country's largest franchisees.

Starboard Group also has expanded internationally. In 2015, it created a Wendy's Brazil Joint Venture, which established the company's master franchiser rights in that country. The company opened its first Sao Paolo restaurant the following year, and now operates five locations.
